The first AI algorithm beating human doctors in musculoskeletal abnormalities detection
Musculoskeletal conditions affect more than 1.7 billion people worldwide, and are the most common cause of severe, long-term pain and disability, with 30 million emergency department visits annually and increasing.
Stanford ML group hosts Bone X-Ray Deep Learning Competition with a goal of leading to significant advances in medical imaging technologies which can diagnose at the level of experts thus improve healthcare access in parts of the world where access to skilled radiologists is limited.
More than 150 teams from renowned universities, institutions, and companies have jointed the competition since May 25, 2018. On Sept. 30, the AI model developed by Availink Inc. became the world’s 1st deep learning model outperforming human radiologists, and ranked No. 1 on the competition leaderboard. The Availink’s model offers Kappa value 0.805, which is notably better than experienced expert (Kappa value is a metric of detection accuracy, the higher the more accurate. The radiologist with 10 years’ experience from Stanford University Hospital offers Kappa value 0.763 on the same dataset, and a 25 years experienced radiologist offers Kappa value 0.778).
Dr. Feng-wen Sun, Availiink CEO and adjunct professor of Nankai University comments on their achievement “The medical AI research of Availink is nonprofit. We are pleased to have contribution to humanity. Besides Musculoskeletal system, Availink will soon release AI service for lung X-Ray, retinal OCT, and skin diseases diagnosis. Availink announces first ISDB-T HD set-top-box SoC
As a leading company focused on developing DTV solutions, Availink Inc. has announced its ISDB-T HD STB single chip (SoC) products, will soon in mass production.
ISDB-T HD STB SoC, integrated 512 MB of DDR2 memory, has highest level of integration compared with similar chips. The SoC integrated with market widely used ISDB-T demodulator and decoder. Depending on outstanding demodulator performance, ISDB-T SoC can fully meet the Brazilian EAD specification including single frequency network (SFN) and multipath, from Mackenzie digital TV Laboratory. ISDB-T SoC adopts flexible software architecture, you can modify depth algorithm by software upgrade, thus making them in the face of complex scene environment have the best flexibility. In addition, ISDB-T SoC also achieved a good early warning broadcasting system for emergency support for the Philippines tsunamis and other natural disaster.
We are providing customers a good ISDB-T solution with best value. As one of the world’s four mainstream digital TV transmission standard, ISDB-T originated in Japan, and gradually spread to other countries, mainly used in Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela in South America and Philippines and other countries in Asia. Brazil and Philippines have issued ASO plan, which Brazil planed to close all analog TV signals in 2018. With 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, the whole industry believes that Latin America ISDB-T HD set-top-box market demand will be explosively growing. Mainly for those markets demands in Latin America, Philippines and etc., Availink release ISDB-T SoC at the right time. Reviewing CCBN2016, this ISDB-T SoC has been showcased with new products demonstration such as DTMB+OTT HD set-top-box solution and DVB-T2/HEVC HD products.
